If you have recently completed a degree or are due to complete one by the end of July 2021 you may wish to consider completing a PGCE (with Qualified Teacher Status) at St Hilda’s and train to become a secondary school teacher.

As a School Direct trainee, our one year course offers you the opportunity to complete the majority of your training in school with attendance at our partner University, Liverpool John Moores one day a week.

If you expect to achieve or have achieved a 2:2 or above in a related subject, hold maths and English GCSEs (grades 4 or above) and are considering a career in teaching; we would be delighted to help you take the next steps with your career.

The subjects we offer are: English, Maths, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, PE, Religious Education, Art and Design, Geography, History, Modern languages, Design and Technology, Music, Drama and Computing.

For certain subjects School Direct also attracts bursary funding; for more information please contact Mrs Laura Lucas – see below.

The School Direct Partnership programme is co-ordinated by Archbishop Blanch Church of England High School. If you are interested in a career in teaching or just want to know more about School Direct please click here or contact:
