GCSE Success at St Hilda’s CofE High School

We are absolutely delighted to celebrate the achievements of our Year 11 students in their GCSE examinations this summer. The Class of 2025 have shown determination, resilience and ambition throughout their time at St Hilda’s, and we could not be prouder of the results they have achieved.
This year’s GCSE results demonstrate outstanding progress across the school, with significant increases in all key measures. Eighty percent of students achieved a standard pass (Grades 9–4) in both English and Maths, while sixty-six percent achieved a strong pass (Grades 9–5). On average over thirty percent of grades in English and Maths were awarded at the very top levels (Grades 9–7), a wonderful reflection of both student dedication and the high quality of teaching across the school. There were further outstanding results in French, History, Psychology and Geography. Vocational subjects also shone, with particularly strong outcomes in Sport and Catering.
Behind these statistics lie countless individual success stories. Kenny achieved six Grade 9s, two Grade 8s and one Grade 6. Troy celebrated with four Grade 9s, four Grade 8s and one Grade 7. Matthew secured four Grade 9s, four Grade 8s and one Grade 7, while Amelia achieved three Grade 9s, four Grade 8s and two Grade 7s. These results are testament not only to the students’ hard work and perseverance but also to the encouragement of their families and the tireless dedication of our staff.
Reflecting on the results, Mrs Code, Headteacher at St Hilda’s, said:
“We are incredibly proud of every single student at St Hilda’s. These results are a testament to their resilience, commitment and belief in themselves. Success comes in many forms, and today we celebrate not just the grades, but the journeys our students have taken to reach them. We look forward to seeing them continue to flourish as so many of them join us in the Sixth Form at St Hilda’s College.”
The majority of Year 11 students have chosen to continue their education with us at St Hilda’s College, and we are excited to see them build on this strong foundation and take the next steps towards their future aspirations.
Congratulations once again to our wonderful Year 11 – you have made St Hilda’s proud.
