  • Over two days, all Year 8 students took part in an engaging and thought-provoking event delivered in partnership with the @anthonywalkerfoundation The sessions focused on raising awareness of racism and microaggressions in schools, helping students to understand how everyday words and actions can impact others. The school’s Anthony Walker Ambassadors played a leading role throughout the event, supporting discussions, encouraging students to share their views, and helping their peers explore what it means to be an active ally. Through group activities and open conversations, students developed a greater understanding of respect, inclusion, and how to challenge discrimination positively and safely. Following the event, the Anthony Walker Ambassadors are now evaluating the discussions and feedback from students to help continue promoting an inclusive and supportive school community.

  • At this time of year, when we are saying goodbye to our year 11 and 13 librarians, we select a Pupil Librarian of the Year. This is a pupil who has committed to the library with a minimum of 2 years service. Someone who promotes the library in school, who supports Mrs Hale and keeps things running smoothly, training younger pupils, promoting literacy and generally being amazing! This year, for the first time ever, we have had to choose 2 pupils because they are both outstanding in different ways and you can see the impact being a librarian has had on them, increasing their confidence and self belief. Massive congratulations to... Casey and Tiph!
