Book clubs

At St Hilda’s we currently run two book clubs, rising to three in September due to popular demand. (Lower School years 7 – 9, Middle School years 9 & 10 and Upper School 6th form and staff). We meet each half term to discuss a specific book which has been chosen in advance for its content and ability to create meaningful discussions.
The book clubs are very popular with the pupils who attend and, as a reward for attending all meetings, we take the pupils to Waterstones book shop in Liverpool One and buy them each a book of their choice at the end of the year.
Parents are also welcome to take part in book club. A library account can be set up in your name, copies of the chosen books can be sent home with your child and you can e-mail your comments and score out of 20 to the Librarian. These will be read out during the meeting and feedback from the group, including the book’s final score, will be sent to you.
